Maoist carrying reward of Rs 10 lakh arrested in Palamu

Daltonganj, May 11: In a major success for the security forces in their fight against LWE in the state a hardcore ultra of the CPI (Maoists) carrying a reward of Rs 10 lakh on his head was arrested from Joga village under Untari Police Station area of this district.

 

The arrested has been identified as Ram Sundar Ram alias Alok Ji alias Vjan Ji alias Makkhan Ji.

Palamu DIG Vipul Shukla addressing a press conference  said that the state government had announced a reward on Rs 10 lakh on his head and a red warrant was also issued against him. He said that the arrested ultra was active in many areas of Bihar and Jharkhand but his key operative area was Palamu and Garhwa and their bordering areas.

 

DIG said that Ram Sundar Ram had joined the Maoist group in 1988 and more than 20 cases are registered against him in separate police station areas of Garhwa and Palamu districts. He said that police had received a secret tip off that the maoist was in his home at Joga village after which a police team led by Garhwa ASP Sadan Kumar conducted the raid and arrested the Maoist.

 

Palamu SP Inderjeet Mahtha was also present during the press conference along with DSP Hiralal Ravi.

 

Two Maoist Guerrillas belonging to PLFI were arrested from Khuti district. The arrested Maoists include Marshal Mandu and Kaila Horo. They are accused of killing priest and torching vehicles. .
