₹21 Lakh Cash, Jewellery Recovered in CBI Raid on Hazaribagh PSU Official

New Delhi/Hazaribagh: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has seized ₹21 lakh in cash, along with jewellery, property papers, and digital records, during a raid at the residence of a Central Warehousing Corporation official arrested in a bribery case in Hazaribagh.

The accused, Ravi Ranjan Kumar, a manager with the Central Warehousing Corporation, was arrested on Thursday after allegedly accepting a ₹1 lakh bribe. He was later produced before a Special CBI Court in Ranchi, which sent him to judicial custody.

According to officials, the case was registered on April 23 following a complaint that Kumar had demanded money in return for allowing a contractor to continue work already assigned to him. Acting on the complaint, the CBI set up a trap and caught Kumar red-handed while taking the bribe.

The agency said the recovery made during the search further strengthens the case. It also confirmed that the possible involvement of other officials is being examined.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have indicated that more action may follow if additional links to corruption emerge.
