Attack on CM’s convoy: Officer incharges for Kotwali and Sukhdeo Nagar Police Stations suspended by DGP

Ranchi: Heads have started rolling in the aftermath of attack of the convoy of Chief Minister Hemant Soren as DGP MV Rao on Wednesday suspended officer incharges of Kotwali and Sukhdeo Nagar Police Stations.

The area of Kishoreganj where protestors had tried to stop the convoy of Chief Minister on January 4 falls under the jurisdiction of these two police stations.

DGP MV Rao on Wednesday also chaired a high level meeting at the office of Ranchi SSP in which officer incharge of all the police stations of the capital were present.

In the meeting ADG Special Branch, ADG CID, IG Ranchi zone, SSP Ranchi, City SP Ranchi and all the DSPs were present. The DGP in the meeting maintained that a high level committee has been formed to investigate the matter and those who would be found guilty action will be taken against them.

High level committee formed to probe attack on convoy of Chief Minister.

On Tuesday the state government constituted a high level committee to probe the attack on the convoy of the Chief Minister. In this two member high level committee a senior IAS and IPS officer has been included. The committee has been directed to submit the report over the incident as soon as possible.

Further a showcase has been also issued Ranchi DC and SSP. On January 4 when the convoy of the Chief Minister was returning from project building when at Kishoreganj chowk anti social elements as part of planned conspiracy tried to attack the convoy.

However the Ranchi Police acted with promptly and diverted the route and took the Chief Minister safely to his residence. To probe the incident the high level committee has been formed.
