Garhwa: A team of the Anti Corruption Bureau arrested the Mukhiya and Panchayat Samiti Member of Baligadh panchayat of this district while they were accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000.
The arrested have been identified as Mukhiya Surendra Yadav while the Panchayat Samiti member was Manoj Sao who were nabbed from near a bank at Bhawnathpur. Later both of them were taken away to Palamu by the ACB.
A complaint against the duo was lodged by one Kameshwar Singh of Baligadh village who had executed the construction of a culvert in the village. The man was waiting for clearance of the remaining amount of Rs 64,200 for which the Mukhiya was demanding the bribe.
Post the verification the ACB laid a trap and as soon as money exchanged hands the duo were nabbed.
