Ranchi: The anti-encroachment drive of the Ranchi Municipal Corporation continued in the capital on Saturday also with the team of the enforcement department taking action against the encroachers on Ratu Road and Main Road.
As soon as the people saw the team of the enforcement department panic spread among them and the shop keepers who were setting up their shops on the footpath ran away with their belongings.
The team of the enforcement department managed to catch some of the shop keepers and also seized their goods. Further, the sheds, banners, and posters were also seized by the team.
Dozens of vehicles that were parked in the no parking zones were seized by the team and fine was also collected from the vehicle owners. When the team reached Ratu Road the fruits and vegetable sellers fled from the spot. Fine was also imposed on such people who had piled building construction material outside their homes or in the lanes.
