Mumbai — Actress Yamini Malhotra, who has worked in both Punjabi and Telugu films, opened up about the stark contrast between the working styles of the two industries. She revealed that while Punjabi film sets feel like a grand family celebration, Telugu shoots are far more disciplined and strictly professional.
Yamini explained that the energy on a Punjabi film set is vibrant and festive. “Working on a Punjabi movie feels like attending a big fat Indian wedding. There’s food, music, laughter — it doesn’t feel like work. It’s like a family coming together to enjoy the process. You form bonds, spend time with each other even after pack-up, and it’s all very personal,” she shared.
In contrast, she described Telugu shoots as being more structured and serious.
“On Telugu sets, everything is about discipline and precision. People come, do their scenes, and head back to their vanity vans. There’s minimal personal interaction — it’s extremely professional, almost mechanical at times,” added Yamini, who also participated in Bigg Boss 18.
Despite the differences, Yamini appreciates both experiences — enjoying the warmth and spontaneity of Punjabi cinema, while also valuing the focus and efficiency of Telugu filmmaking.
On the work front, Yamini is gearing up for her Bollywood debut with Chill Marna Bro, directed by Tejas Dattani. The film promises to be a fun-filled entertainer packed with comedy and unexpected twists.
Expressing her excitement about stepping into Hindi cinema, Yamini said that acting has always been her passion, and making her Bollywood debut is nothing short of a dream come true.
She also hinted that Chill Marna Bro boasts an engaging storyline with plenty of humor and surprises.
