World Bi-Cycle Day organised at Morhabadi grounds in Ranchi

Ranchi: World Bi-Cycle Day organised at Morhabadi grounds in Ranchi on Saturday.

On this occasion, Cycle Rally ‘Cyclothon’ was held with the support of various Non Governmental Organisations (NGO’s).

The cycling and plastic pick-up drive to celebrate with the theme to ‘Beat the Plastic’ pollution ahead of ‘World Environment Day’ celebrations to create awareness among the citizens to curb plastic pollution and proper Management of plastic waste.

Cyclists from various cycle groups including Ranchi Cycle Club, Green Pedal and Cycle Dost volunteer with the motto to clean Jharkhand.

According to the National Family Health Survey (NFHS) about 66.3 % of households have their own Bi-Cycle.

On World Bi-Cycle Day youngsters were seen full of enthusiasm and created awareness by shouting slogans and raising posters on the importance of cycling.

Indian Army Jawans and National Service Scheme (NSS) personnel also took part to make a success of this event.

They picked up plastics and wastes from the roadside and dumped them in the garbage dustbins of Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC).
