Ranchi: Additional Chief Secretary of Jharkhand L. Khingyte who is also looking Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department of the Government of Jharkhand administered LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) pledge to the youngsters during Cyclothon event organised on the occasion of the World Bi-Cycle Day with the support of the government of Jharkhand and various Non Governmental Organisations including Citizen’s foundation and CEED (Center for Energy and Environment) at Morhabadi grounds in Ranchi on Saturday.
Secretary Department of Forest, Environment and Climate Change Dr. Sanjay Shrivastava led the cycle rally which covered 12 kms of distance from Morhabadi Grounds to Forest department at Doranda via Ratu Road, Harmu road and Birsa Chowk area of Ranchi City.
Almost 1500 people including school children, teachers, professors, Volunteers from NGO’s, Corporate representatives, Army Jawans, Police personnel and paramilitary forces took part in the rally.
Additional Chief Secretary L Khingyte said, that “The aim behind organising this event under Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) is to create awareness and to make an Environment-friendly lifestyle.”
Khingyte added that “People should take responsibility for Energy Conservation, Water Conservation and to avoid Plastic production and to create awareness for tree plantation.”
