Ranchi: Newly elected MLA from Mandar seat of Jharkhand Assembly Shilpi Neha Tirkey expressed her gratitude towards the people of her constituency and her party for showing faith in her. After the victory in the bypolls she said that she will fulfill the dreams of development seen by her father Bandhu Tirkey for Mandar. She credited teamwork as the reason behind her victory in the polls.
She said that somewhere her father saw all the qualities in her of becoming a public representative therefore she was made a candidate in the polls. She said that she will try to fulfill all the work in the remaining tenure. She said that she was never scared in the elections and she was very much confident of winning the polls as her agenda and thoughts were related to the welfare of the people.
Shilpi has done her initial education at Sacred Heart School Hulhundu and completed intermediate from St Xaviers College Ranchi. She did her graduation from Christ University Bangalore in Business and went on to do her Post Graduate Diploma in marketing communications from St Xaviers College Mumbai and is a proprietor of a firm based in Kanke. Her husband Sunny Wilfred James Lakra is a merchant Navy engineer.
Shilip defeated her nearest rival Gangotri Kujur of BJP in the bypolls of the Mandar Assembly Seat by a margin of over 23,000 votes.
