Welfare and all round development of workers is priority for state government: Hemant Soren

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that the welfare of farmers and their all-round development was a priority for the state government and asked the department to prepare a roadmap to fill the vacant posts by January 2021.

Chairing the review of the labour and skill development department here he said a team should be prepared which should work to lessen the speed of workers creation. He said that Jharkhand has come to be known as labour centric state which needed to be changed. He said that under the present circumstances the needs have changed and accordingly the training needed to be provided to the new generation so that they can become a strong base of the state.

The Chief Minister said as per the government records there are five lakh workers whose registration needed to be done and the department should frame schemes for their welfare. He said that in the case of inter state migration their numbers should be collected and a toll free number should be declared so that the migrant workers can register their problems and accordingly they could be solved.

He suggested that the children studying in the ITI should be provided training as per the needs of the market for which a survey needed to be done and accordingly training should be done so that they can get jobs. He asked the officials to hold dialogue with the Industries so that the trained children can be provided training and suggested that children should be provided training related to welder, motor mechanic, electrician, transformer repairing, plumbing etc.

The Chief Minister directed that since the labour department is running various schemes for the welfare of the workers therefore a workshop should be organised for the MLAs where they can be provided information regarding the various schemes and later they can ensure benefits of the schemes to workers of their constituency.
