Ranchi: A conversation program was organized at Ranchi Press Club by the Press Information Bureau, Ranchi, working under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India.
A large number of journalists, legal scholars and police officers participated in this workshop.
Vice Chancellor of National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL) Professor Ashok Patil said that in place of the old law, the Indian Justice Code, the Indian Civil Defence Code, and the Indian Evidence Act, which are going to be implemented from July 1, 2024, will take great care of the victim party.
He said that in making these three new laws, discussions were held with professors, researchers from leading law colleges across the country, 142 MPs from different parties, 272 MLAs and the general public, only then this law is being implemented.
He also said that forensic science and forensic investigation have great importance in the new law and for this the state governments will have to make good arrangements for forensic investigation.
Akhil Kumar Mishra, Additional Director General, Press Information Bureau, in his “Key Note Address” said that the essential provisions of the old law have been kept in the new law and those which were not necessary have been removed, and the provisions of the modern times have been kept in place.
