UNICEF’s child journalists interacted with CM Hemant Soren on the occasion of World Children’s Day Celebrations 2023

Ranchi:  Child journalists of UNICEF, Jharkhand met and interacted with Chief Minister Hemant Soren on the occasion of World Children’s Day-2023 Celebrations in Ranchi on Tuesday. He shared his educational experiences and activities with the Chief Minister and also asked many questions.

The Chief Minister wished the children on World Children’s Day and said – It feels good to meet you and I also get a chance to know, understand and learn a lot. Encouraging the enthusiasm of the boys and girls, he said – no matter what the circumstances may be, do not break ties with studies.

Only education paves the way for a better future. The Chief Minister said that the government has started Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana to empower girls and keep them engaged in studies.

To ensure that a maximum number of girls get the benefit of this scheme, the obligation to provide benefits to maximum two girls from the same family will be removed. Through this scheme all the girls will be united in the same family.

The Chief Minister told the children – education is very important for everyone. If you are educated then you will be able to understand the difference between right and wrong. No one will put unnecessary pressure on you.

Your scope of thinking will increase and you will be able to make appropriate decisions.The Chief Minister said that the kind of environment that is being created regarding education and competitive examinations, children are becoming stressed. Due to this stress, many children also go into depression. This is not a good sign for our society. 

Children should talk openly about every issue with their parents, guardians and other family members. There should be no hesitation regarding topics in dialogue.  Make good associates and live in a healthy environment.

This will definitely make children mentally strong and will be able to deal with any situation and any challenge. The Chief Minister told the children that no matter what kind of challenge comes, they should not leave their studies. 

Convince your parents and guardians to let me study. Also tell them that the government is showing a better path for education to children. She is paying all the expenses of her studies. This will definitely make your parents sensitive towards your studies.

If you get educated, your family will also progress. The Chief Minister said that the government is committed to providing better and quality education to children.  In this connection, girls are being linked to Savitribai Phool Kishori Samriddhi Yojana so that they remain connected to studies.

Apart from this, the government is also giving full expenses for preparation for competitive exams and doing various courses. If the student wants to pursue education abroad, the government has also started a scheme to provide  100% scholarship for him. 

The Chief Minister said that along with studies, sports and other creativity are also very important for the overall development of children. This brings out the hidden talent of children and gives them opportunities to enhance it.

The Chief Minister also said that children are building their future through sports also. You also join sports and you will be given all support from the government in this. The Chief Minister was told by UNICEF that there are about 10 thousand child journalists in Ranchi and West Singhbhum districts.

All these child journalists are associated with different schools. On this, the Chief Minister said that all these children should be made to visit good and better institutions and other institutions outside the state in a phased manner. Also take them to sports competitions, exhibitions and fairs organized on a large scale.

This will give exposure to children. He said that the government will also cooperate in this. On the occasion of World Children’s Day 2023, 20 child journalists from six government schools of different blocks of Ranchi district had  come to interact with the Chief Minister.

These child journalists not only communicated with the Chief Minister but also asked questions. He also informed the Chief Minister about the activities conducted by child journalists. On the occasion, the children also lovingly presented the greeting card made by them to the Chief Minister.

On this occasion, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Vandana Dadel, Secretary to the Chief Minister Vinay Kumar Choubey, Senior Emergency Secretary to the Chief Minister Sunil Kumar Srivastava, Chief of UNICEF  Jharkhand, Dr. Kaninika Mitra were present.
