Palamu: Two people lost their lives in two hit-and-run cases in Palamu district. The road accident occurred on NH 98 and NH 75. Youth Pankaj Singh (25) of Tabar village died on the spot after being crushed by an unknown vehicle on the National Highway in Tabar village of Satbarwa police station area on the Medininagar – Ranchi main road.
The incident happened late on Tuesday night. Satbarwa police station got information about the incident around 12 o’clock in the night. The post-mortem of the mutilated body took place at MMCH on Wednesday. The deceased has a four-year-old daughter and a six-month-old son.
According to the deceased’s elder brother Pappu Singh, Pankaj was coming from his old house in the tribal hamlet located in Tabar to his new house on Ranchi Road. Meanwhile, a speeding vehicle coming from Ranchi hit him.
After crushing Pankaj, the driver fled with the vehicle. The second incident took place on National Highway 98 at Chhatarpur on the Medininagar-Aurangabad main road.
On Tuesday night at 8 o’clock, Vinod Oraon (38), a youth from Mahisani village, was returning home from the weekly market of Chhatarpur on a motorcycle with his friend Rajendra Chandravanshi. Meanwhile, an unknown vehicle hit the motorcycle and ran away. Vinod died on the spot. While Rajendra was seriously injured.
After the road accident, the local people became angry and blocked the National Highway. After convincing the people, the police got the jam removed at ten in the night. Vinod’s body was handed over to his family members after a post-mortem at MMCH on Wednesday.
