Dhanbad: Keeping in mind the convenience of passengers, there is a plan to run another express train between Dhanbad and Alleppey. Regarding this, Dhanbad Railway Division has sent a proposal to East Central Railway Headquarters. The route and stoppage of this train will be the same as the previously running Alleppey Express. After getting approval from the board, the timetable of this train will be decided by coordinating with other zones.
Giving this information, Divisional Railway Manager Kamal Kishore Sinha said that this train will be a clone of Alleppey Express. This proposal has been sent in view of the increasing number of passengers on this route. All preparations for operation are being made while ensuring rack availability.
A large number of people from Dhanbad and Jharkhand go by Alleppey Express for treatment in Vellore. This is also the only direct train for South India. The Pradhankhanta-Pathardih line will be doubled. The railway line between Pradhankhanta and Pathardih will be doubled. Preparations are underway for this, work will be started soon. Record of highest loading and income in a single day.
Dhanbad division achieved the highest loading, highest income and 100% punctuality in the entire country on a single day on 9th October. 20 crossings will be closed. There is a plan to close 20 line crossings located at different places in the Sub-Vedhanabad division in this financial year.
DRM said that keeping in mind the accidents occurring while crossing the line and increasing the speed of the train, the crossing will be closed and a convenient limited-height subway will be installed in its place. Along with this, there is also a plan to build rail overbridges at 8 places in this financial year. No approval for a direct train between Dhanbad and Delhi.
DRM said that the earlier proposed Dhanbad-Delhi train has not been approved yet. Continuous efforts are being made to get this train running. The demand for trains from Dhanbad to Delhi has been there for a long time. Earlier the proposal for this train was sent to ECR headquarters. The only direct train from Dhanbad to South India is Alleppey, patients also go to Vellore.
Proposal for a special train for Sitamarhi and Gorakhpur during Chhath: Dhanbad Railway Board has also sent a proposal to run special trains keeping Chhath in mind. These include trains to Gorakhpur and Raxaul via Sitamarhi and Muzaffarpur. Earlier, a proposal for a special train from Dhanbad to Anand Vihar was also sent.
