Two Buses Turn to Ashes After Massive Late-Night Fire in Jamshedpur’s Mango Area

Jamshedpur: A sudden fire late Sunday night triggered panic among residents of Sankosai in Mango after two parked buses were engulfed in flames and completely destroyed within a short span of time.

The incident took place on Road No. 1 under the jurisdiction of the Ulidih police station. Eyewitnesses said smoke was first seen rising from one of the parked buses, following which flames quickly spread across the vehicle and soon reached another bus parked nearby.

Locals suspect that a short circuit may have caused the fire, though the exact reason is yet to be confirmed.

As flames shot high into the sky and thick smoke covered the area, frightened residents rushed out of their homes and informed the police and fire department.

On receiving information, fire brigade teams immediately reached the spot and launched a firefighting operation. After strenuous efforts, the fire was finally brought under control, but both buses had already been completely gutted.

The blaze also caused temporary disruption of traffic movement in the locality while rescue and firefighting work was underway.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident. However, the fire is believed to have caused losses running into several lakh rupees.

Police have begun an investigation to find out the exact cause of the incident.
