Two brothers arrested in GST scam worth Rs 522 crore from Salt Lake, Kolkata

Ranchi/Kolkata:  Jamshedpur’s GST Intelligence has exposed a GST scam worth Crores of rupees. The team has raided the Salt Lake area of Kolkata and arrested two brothers, Amit Gupta and Sumit Gupta, who committed a GST scam of Rs 522 crore. The team arrested both of them from Kolkata on Tuesday and brought them to Jamshedpur. After getting both of them medically examined at MGM Hospital, they started preparing to send them to jail.

In this case, the team had earlier arrested businessmen Vicky Bhalotia and Shiv Kumar Deora and sent them to jail. The matter came to light when the GST Intelligence team of Jamshedpur investigated. Investigation found that there are many such companies in Jamshedpur in which fraudulent transactions are being done. 

During the investigation, it was found that there are more than 100 companies in which fraudulent transactions are taking place. Till now, transactions worth more than three thousand have come to light in these companies. A GST scam of more than Rs 150 crore has come to light in Jamshedpur itself.

After this a team was formed which included Senior Intelligence Officer Roshan Kumar Mishra, Intelligence Officer Dinesh Kumar, Rajeev Ranjan and Rajesh Kumar. The team arrested Amit Gupta and Sumit Gupta from Kolkata. 

The figure of GST scam can go up to Rs 5000 crore.

Ranchi businessman Vivek Narsariya is also on the radar of GST Intelligence. According to sources, Vivek Narsariya’s name has also come up in the investigation. GST Intelligence is conducting raids for his arrest.
