Jamshedpur: A major accident took place during the immersion of the idol of Maa Durga in Jamshedpur. An uncontrolled truck hit more than one and a half dozen people. Many people have been seriously injured in this accident.
According to the information received, two people have died. The seriously injured people have been admitted to the ICU of TMH for treatment. This incident took place at Belibodhanwala Ghat located near Bistupur in Jamshedpur.
According to preliminary information, Jugsalai Naya Bazar Committee had brought the statue for immersing it on the same truck in which the accident took place. The driver of this truck lost control over the vehicle. Due to which this accident happened. Many people remained trapped under the truck in the accident.
After the incident, the driver of the truck abandoned the vehicle and ran away. It is being said that the truck was climbing a slight climb, during which it rolled backwards due to the brakes not being applied. Due to which this accident happened.
After this incident many people remained trapped under the truck. There was difficulty in relief and rescue operations due to darkness at the location. There was chaos at the spot after the incident. There was a stampede situation. The police who reached the spot also had to face the anger of the people.
After a lot of effort, the people trapped in the truck were finally taken out. Many people have been seriously injured. All the injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital and TMH. Among the injured were four people who played drums during puja. These people had come to Kitadih Durga Puja to play Dhak.
After this incident, CM Hemant Soren was consoled by tweeting. He has written that the sad news of the death of two people was received in a truck accident during immersion in Jamshedpur.
