Tribal outfits warn of agitation if demand of separate Sarna code not met

Ranchi: The tribals organisations in the state have warned of a severe agitation if their demand for a separate Sarna code is not realised.

Addressing the press national convener of National Tribal Indigenous Religious Coordination Committee Arvind Oraon said that the present state government before the elections had promised to provide a separate Sarna religious code and during the budget session the organisations had also submitted a memorandum in this regard demanding that a proposal in this regard should be sent to Centre after passing from assembly  but so far the state government is negligent over the matter.

The people representing different tribal outfits warned of a severe agitation if their demands are not met. It was decided that to build pressure reminder memorandums would be given to all the MPs and MLAs of the state on September 5.

On the other hand, on September 20 a human chain would be formed on the national highways by the members of the community with posters and banners in support of their demands.

And even after that if their demands are not met then they would be issuing warning calling for a social boycott of these elected representatives.
