Ranchi: An old woman was living with her dead husband for the last three days near Shashtri Maidan in Lower Chutia under the Namkum Police Station area.
The incident came to notice on Friday after foul smell started coming out of the room after which the house owner where the old couple lived on rent informed the sons of the deceased. Later the family members reached at the spot and took away the body for cremation.
The deceased has been identified as Bhawani Sharma (80). The old couple has two sons who are well-settled businessmen but had thrown out the old parents of their homes due to which they were living in rented accommodation. Moreover, due to some disease, one of legs of the old man was cut.
The house owner said that for the last three years the couple was staying in his house and after getting the foul smell on Friday he went inside and saw the woman sleeping next to her husband but as her mental condition was not good she did not realise that her husband had passed away.
