Jamshedpur: Panic broke out at Tatanagar Railway Station late Tuesday night when a youth climbed onto a stationary freight train and came into contact with an overhead high-voltage wire, leaving him critically injured.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident took place around 11:10 PM on Platform No. 3. The youth suddenly climbed onto the goods train and within moments was struck by the overhead electric line, suffering severe burn injuries.
Passengers and railway staff quickly alerted the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and station authorities. Acting promptly, the injured युवक was rushed to the railway hospital with the help of a Tata Life ambulance.
After receiving initial treatment, doctors referred him to MGM Hospital due to his critical condition.
The incident caused chaos at the station for some time, as anxious passengers gathered and emergency teams responded swiftly.
The RPF has initiated an investigation and is reviewing CCTV footage to determine how the युवक accessed the train and what led to the incident.
Preliminary reports suggest that the youth may be mentally unstable, though no official confirmation has been made so far. Efforts are ongoing to establish his identity and locate his family members.
