Traffic Police Crack Down on Modified Silencers, 42 Bullet Motorcycles Booked in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: In an effort to curb rising noise pollution, the traffic police in Jamshedpur launched a special enforcement drive against motorcycles fitted with illegal modified silencers.

During the campaign carried out across different parts of the city, officials intercepted around 42 Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycles that were using high-decibel modified exhaust systems in violation of traffic regulations.

Traffic personnel immediately seized the illegal silencers and imposed fines on the riders. After issuing strict warnings, the vehicle owners were allowed to leave with clear instructions to restore their motorcycles to standard specifications.

Officials said that modified exhaust systems generate excessive noise, significantly contributing to sound pollution and causing inconvenience to residents and pedestrians.

Speaking about the drive, Traffic DSP Neeraj Kumar said that a special enforcement campaign is currently underway across the city to identify and take action against vehicles using illegal silencers.

He added that strict action against violators will continue and similar inspection drives will be conducted regularly to ensure adherence to traffic rules.

The traffic police emphasized that the campaign is aimed not only at enforcing the law but also at protecting public health and maintaining a peaceful urban environment by reducing noise pollution.
