To reduce the load of RIMS, 14 specialist doctors will be appointed in Sadar Hospital

Ranchi: To run the 500-bed Sadar Hospital smoothly, 14 specialist doctors will be appointed through outsourcing as an alternative arrangement. As per Indian Public Health Standard (IPHS) criteria 2022, these doctors will be appointed till the reinstatement of specialist doctors against the acceptance of regular post.

Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department, Arun Kumar Singh, has approved Rs 1 crore 61 lakh 62 thousand for the expenditure on the scheme for availing services. The withdrawal and disposal officer of the allotted amount will be Civil Surgeon Ranchi. The amount will be withdrawn from Ranchi treasury. 

In order to reduce the burden on RIMS, the Health Department has taken this step for better operation of Sadar Hospital. With this, the large population of the city will be able to get better benefits of health facilities.

Among the 14 specialist doctors, General Duties Medical Officer (GDMO), Cardiologist, Physician, Anesthetist and ENT Specialist are to be appointed. Appointment is to be made on 10 posts of General Duties Medical Officer (GDMO).

These include Rs 63000 per doctor, Rs 1.5 lakh per doctor appointed to one post of Cardiologist, Rs 1 lakh 5 thousand to one doctor appointed to the post of Physician, Rs 1 lakh 5 thousand to one doctor appointed to the post of Anesthetist and Rs 1 lakh 5 thousand to one doctor appointed to the post of ENT Specialist. The doctor appointed to the post will be paid a monthly honorarium of Rs 1 lakh 5 thousand.
