Ranchi: The district administration has taken all necessary steps to make sure that the incidents of June 10 are not repeated in the capital on Friday.
As part of the preventive measures in the sensitive pockets of the city apart from local police jawans of Jharkhand Jaguar and RAF have been deputed. On the other hand organizations like Anjuman Islamia, and Doranda Central Muharram Committee has urged the people to remain in their homes after the Friday prayers.
An appeal has been made to the people not to fall into trap of rumours being circulated on social media and messages of taking out processions should be rejected. Those who can offer Namaz at their homes should do so.
DIG South Chottanagpur Anish Gupta said that to maintain law and order and ensure that incidents of the previous Friday are not repeated in the city in many sensitive areas of the city forces have been deployed and a mock drill has been also performed. He said that as part of preventive measures at sensitive spots barricading has been done and hoped that no untoward incident will take place. Apart from that, an appeal has been made to the people not to fall trap to any rumours and extend cooperation to the police.
On the other hand, a PIL has been also moved in the Jharkhand High Court over the violence that had taken place last Friday through which an NIA probe has been sought into the incident. The court has directed the state government to file its reply over the matter by Friday.
Last Friday following the Namaz a procession was carried out in the capital to protest the controversial statements made by BJP leader Nupur Sharma. The mob soon went violent forcing police to use force and ultimately fire in the air to disperse the crowd in which two people lost their lives while 20 others sustained injuries.
