Ranchi: Thousands of army aspirants on Thursday staged demonstrations again the Agneepath Scheme of the army.
Aspirants in large numbers gathered at the overbridge of the state capital and protested outside the army office. They even had posters in their hands in support of their demands.
Police said that somehow the youths were persuaded to leave the spot. One of the protesters said that under the scheme they will get only four years of job after which their future will be in dark.
They said that it appears that they will be getting jobs in the army on a contract basis. In wake of the agitation of the army aspirants, a large number of policemen were deployed outside the army office to prevent any untoward incident. However, after police managed to persuade the agitators to leave the spot after which the traffic jam was cleared.
