To create environment for sports tournaments will be organised from Panchayat to State level: CM

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday said that to create an environment for sports in Jharkhand sports tournaments will be organised from the panchayat level to the state level.

Earlier Astam Oraon, Neetu Linda, Anjali Munda, Anita Kumari, Poornima Kumari and Sudha Ankita Tirkey from Jharkhand, representing the Indian football team in the Under-17 FIFA World Cup met Chief Minister Hemant Soren. These players thanked the Chief Minister for the cooperation extended by the government regarding training and preparations for the FIFA World Cup.

The Chief Minister said that they have brought laurels to the state by representing the country in the FIFA World Cup. He said that the state was proud of all the players. While motivating the players, the Chief Minister wished them good luck for performing even better for the state and the country in the future.

On this occasion, he also honoured all the players. The Chief Minister said that the government has a special focus on the development of sports and sportspersons and was determined to take the game forward. He said that sports policy has been made in this direction and at the same time, many players have also been appointed directly. In the coming days, many more sports facilities will be made available to the players, so that they can give special recognition to the state and the country at the international level by performing better in their respective sports he said.

The Chief Minister said that the government is working fast to ensure the provision of education for talented children emerging in the field of sports. He informed these players that they should focus on their game without worrying as all sports facilities will be provided to them along with better training.

He said that sports competitions would be organized at Panchayat, Block, District and State levels to create an environment of sports in the state. Apart from this, playgrounds in villages and panchayats and stadiums are being built at the block level as it is the endeavor of the government to bring out the sports talent here through these competitions and make them better players by giving them training and other facilities. 

On this occasion, these players shared their experiences of the FIFA World Cup with the Chief Minister. They said that they got a chance to play with players from different countries and this will definitely improve our performance. Secretary to Chief Minister Vinay Kumar Choubey, Sports Secretary Manoj Kumar, Sports Director Sarojini Lakra, Football Coach Anand Prasad Gope and Soni Kumari were present on the occasion.
