Nemra – On Saturday, Nemra village in Jharkhand’s Ramgarh district witnessed a sea of people attending the memorial feast for Shibu Soren, revered as Dishom Guru and a stalwart of the Jharkhand movement.
By afternoon, around 70,000 people had paid homage, with the crowd expected to exceed 300,000 by evening.
Among the attendees were Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Jharkhand Governor Santosh Gangwar, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy, MoS Defence Sanjay Seth, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev, and many other prominent figures.
Rajnath Singh remarked, “Soren ji’s demise is a deep loss. I salute him on behalf of the nation.” Baba Ramdev added emotionally, “He fought all his life for water, forest, and land. I see him as my Guru.”
Leaders like Pappu Yadav, Ashwini Choubey, and R.K. Anand also met the grieving family, including CM Hemant Soren, his wife Roopi, and their son Basant.
The scale of arrangements reflected the respect he commanded: 25 km of roads lined with vehicles, three helipads for dignitaries, thousands of lights and generators, and five large pandals decorated with portraits of Guruji.
As tributes poured in and crowds swelled, Nemra transformed into a symbolic fairground of remembrance, uniting people from across the nation in memory of Dishom Guru.
