There is atmosphere of joy & gaiety in entire state regarding over works of the government: Chief Minister

Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday said that Maasliaa-Raneshwar Mega Lift Irrigation Scheme is very special in terms of irrigation as this is the first such irrigation scheme of Jharkhand in which there will be no displacement and there will be no submergence area.

While addressing the foundation stone laying program of Masalia- Raneshwar Mega Lift Irrigation Scheme along with performing Bhoomi Pujan of this ambitious scheme he said that irrigation facilities will reach to 22,383 hectares of land through underground pipeline and crops production will increase.

The Chief Minister said that Masalia-Raneshwar Irrigation Command Area would be developed as a tourist hub. A plan would be made for this. He said that this would provide employment opportunities to the local people at the same time, this area will also get a different identity in terms of tourism. He said that Dumka could not get the expected benefit from Masanjor Dam.

During the construction of this dam, many villages here came under submergence. People had to be displaced from here but in return, the benefits that this area should have got for irrigation and other works have not been received till date while neighbouring states are taking advantage of this.

Keeping this in mind his government has resolved to take the Masalia-Raneshwar Mega Lift Irrigation Scheme on the ground so that the fields can get water throughout the year he said adding that this will also lead to overall development of the entire area.

The Chief Minister said that the government is working with full sensitivity and accountability and to empower the tribal, dalit, backward, minority and neglected sections of the state, many welfare schemes are being run in many areas including education, employment and livelihood. By giving the benefit of these schemes, people of these sections are getting strong self-reliance and opportunities to move forward.

He said that under the program “Aapki Yojana – Aapki Sarkar– Aapke Dwar” the officials are reaching to villages and solving the problems and are giving the people rights and respect.

The success of this scheme can be assessed from the fact that more than 35 lakh applications received under this program last year have been almost executed and at the same time, so far more than 39 lakh applications have been received in this program this year. The process of their disposal is going on in full swing he said adding that there is an atmosphere of joy and gaiety in the whole of Jharkhand regarding this scheme.
