Ranchi: Under the Voter List Special Brief Revision Program 2023, the publication of the voter list format has been started in the whole country. On this occasion, a cycle rally and walkathon were organized in Ranchi to make people aware of voting under Sweep.
District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Ranchi Rahul Kumar Sinha flagged off cycle rally and walkathon from Bapu Vatika, Morhabadi.
On this occasion Gayatri Kumari, IAS Joint Chief Electoral Officer cum Joint Secretary, Additional Collector Ranchi, Sub- Divisional Officer Ranchi Sadar, District Deputy Election Officer Ranchi, District Public Relations Officer Ranchi, other district level officers, college students and general public were present.
Mukund Nayak also participated in the program. Starting from Bapu Vatika, Morhabadi, the cycle rally and walkathon reached District School Ranchi. During this, the people involved in the rally were made aware of voting rights.
District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Ranchi Rahul Kumar Sinha said that to ensure maximum participation of youth in voting, a special short revision program of voter list 2023 is being started from 9th November to 8th December. In this, any citizen of India born before 1 October 2005 can apply for a voter ID card.
He said that the purpose of the special brief revision program of the voter list is to rectify the existing voter list. He said that during this time applications can be made for adding name in voter list, correction of details, transfer, deletion of name. The Deputy Commissioner said that the inclusion of names in the voter list is the beginning to make people aware about voting.
Congratulating the residents of Ranchi for the introduction of the special short revision program of the voter list, he said that the members of their household, the people around them should be encouraged to get their names included in the voter list.
