Mumbai – The energetic new song “The Phoogdi Dance” from the upcoming star-studded film Housefull 5 was released on Saturday. This vibrant number follows previous tracks from the film like Laal Pari, Dil E Nadaan, and Qayamat, and adds a lively touch to the film’s overall experience.
Veteran actor Nana Patekar takes the spotlight in the song, humorously pulling each of the film’s characters into the madness of the “Phoogdi Dance” — a signature move presented in his classic comedic style. The track is sung by Krattex, with music composed by Tanishk Bagchi and Krattex.
The Phoogdi Dance, traditionally performed by women who spin in sync while forming a semi-circle, is a cultural highlight across many regions. Nana Patekar’s performance adds a fun twist to the tradition, bringing the quirky chaos fans expect from the Housefull series.
Housefull 5 boasts a massive ensemble cast of 19 actors, including Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek A. Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Chitrangada Singh, Fardeen Khan, Chunky Pandey, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Ranjeet, Soundarya Sharma, Nikitin Dheer, and Akashdeep Sabir. The film is directed by Tarun Mansukhani.
The trailer, released earlier, promises a rollercoaster of laughter, drama, and entertainment. It opens with a cruise ship scene and a voice-over by Nana Patekar, who plays Ranjit, announcing a will worth 69 billion pounds. As he declares the inheritance for a character named Jolly, three contenders named Jolly jump into the fray to claim it.
Packed with references to popular Hindi cinema, the trailer includes a cheeky nod to Tiger Shroff’s debut film Heropanti, with Jackie Shroff delivering the line, “Chhoti bacchi hai kya?”
Shot aboard a lavish cruise traveling from London to France to Spain and back to the UK, Housefull 5 promises a glamorous, chaotic, and hilarious adventure on the high seas — just the way fans like it.
Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner, Housefull 5 is scheduled to release in cinemas worldwide on June 6, 2025.
