Ranchi: Secretary Rural Development Department Manish Ranjan has said that in tribal-dominated areas of the state for livelihood for the state government will implement Tasar farming as a scheme.
Chairing a meeting with the officials of Tasar Vikas Foundation he said that under this scheme training will be given to the beneficiaries so that the needy families can get it, as well as facilities for plantation of nutritious plants, will also be provided under the Birsa Harit Gram Yojana under Mnrega. Under the Birsa Harit Gram Yojana, the scheme will be started as a pilot project in 500-500 acres in five districts in the first phase.
Mnrega Commissioner Rajeshwari B also talked to the officials of Tasar Development Foundation regarding the comprehensive plan for Tasar development and instructed that what are the possibilities in the state in the field of Tasar should be discussed with experts and civil society.
A state-level workshop should be ensured by sitting with them so that the points related to the possibilities in Tasar can be discussed in detail.
The meeting was mainly attended by Ashish Chakraborty of Tasar Vikas Foundation, Prem Shankar from Pradan Sanstha.
