Ranchi: Tanveer Akhtar, director of Yash Modeling Agency, accused of raping a girl from Bhagalpur in Bihar in the name of modelling and love jihad, has filed a bail petition in Ranchi Civil Court. Tanveer has requested for bail in the sessions court through his lawyer.
Earlier, the lower court had refused to grant him bail. Ranchi police had arrested Tanveer from Bihar. In this case, Ranchi Police has recorded the statement of 164 of the model in the court and medical test has also been done.
A young woman from Bihar’s Bhagalpur district has accused Tanveer of Ranchi of raping her and forcibly converting her to marry her. Tanveer Akhtar used to run Yash modeling agency in Ranchi. The girl had registered a case in Versova, Mumbai. Which was later sent to the Gonda police station of Ranchi. Case number 57/2023 has been registered in this regard at Gonda police station. After which Ranchi police is investigating the matter.
