Subarnarekha Multipurpose Project, High Court asked the government and water resources department – why the construction was stopped

Ranchi:  Swarnarekha Multipurpose Project is closed from 2020. The government has so far spent Rs 6.5 thousand crores in that project. In such a situation, applicant Santosh Kumar Soni has filed a petition in the Jharkhand High Court and requested to complete the project without delay.

While hearing the matter, the High Court has asked the State Government and the Water Resources Department as to how the work has been disrupted. The next hearing of the case will be on March 6.

In the petition filed on behalf of the applicant, it has been said that this project will not only create irrigated land for agriculture, but will also create tourism and employment for the people. Because it is a big project and it was stopped without giving any reason. ts construction should be completed.

It is further written that a tripartite agreement has also been signed between the unified governments of Bihar, Orissa and West Bengal in the year 1978 for the Subarnarekha Multipurpose Project.
