State records more than 49 percent average annual rainfall in June

Ranchi: During the month of June so far the state has recorded more than 49 percent of average annual rainfall.

Generally between June 1 to June 29 average rainfall of 178.6 mm takes places this years so far 265.7 mm of rainfall has taken place. Among the districts Jamtara has recorded maximum rainfall at 497.2 mm.

The weather in the state capital remained a pleasant one due to the cool breeze however later in the afternoon the sky got filled with clouds.

As per the local MET department due to various geographical reasons Monsoon Activity has fallen weak in the state and for the next two weeks similar weather conditions have been predicted.

However during this period one or two places in the state can receive light to medium range of rainfall which will be also coupled with lightning.

In the last 24 hours maximum rainfall of 5.6 mm was recorded at Balumath of Latehar district. Sahebganj was hottest at 36.9 while Ranchi was the coolest at 24.1 degrees
