Social organizations to hold a rally in demand of removal the names of tribals who adopted Christianity on Sunday

Ranchi: On Sunday Janjati Suraksha Manch will take out a rally in Ranchi demanding removal of tribals adopting Christianity and Islam from the list of ‘Scheduled Tribes’ list.

Earlier, social workers and public organizations had written letters to the Chief Secretary of Jharkhand Government, Home Secretary, and Director General of Police, Ranchi DC and Senior Superintendent of Police, demanding strict monitoring of the rally.

He has also demanded to take legal action against giving hateful, communal and inflammatory speeches in the rally.

It is written in the letter that the objective of the Tribal Security Forum is to make the tribals fight among themselves in the name of Sarna and Christian, loot their land, end the independent existence of the tribals and make the country a Hindu nation.

The demand to remove tribals following Christianity and Islam from the list of ‘Scheduled Tribes’ is beyond facts.

In the letter there is a clear provision under Section 366 and 342 of the Constitution for any tribal group to be considered a ‘Scheduled Tribe’. There is no mention of religion anywhere in these sections.

In most of the government undertakings of the country including Jharkhand, more than half of the seats reserved for Scheduled Tribes are vacant. But the Tribal Suraksha Manch is trying to create communal division in the tribal society through misleading news on social media and programs based on name of religion and baseless facts related to reservation. But no action is being taken by the administration to stop them.

Organizing a rally on the demand of delisting by Tribal Suraksha Manch a day before Christmas is an attempt to spread communalism among the tribals in the name of religion. Tribal Suraksha Manch is an initiative of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram associated with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
