Hazaribagh: In a major breakthrough, police have arrested seven suspects in connection with the torching of six CCL vehicles in North Tapin earlier this year. The arrests came after a tip-off on Monday night, revealing that the group was planning another attack in Tapin North 44 jungle, prompting a swift raid by a special investigation team led by subdivision police officers from Sadar and Vishnugarh.
The accused—Imdad Raza, Sachin Kumar Ravidas, Afsar Waris, Chhotan Kumar Ravidas, Sahil Raza, Ganesh Yadav, and Sunil Kumar Das—confessed to setting fire to three trucks and three Poclains at the R.K.S. CPL outsourcing company viewpoint on May 24, 2025, and an earlier incident on February 10 in Chalia Todd jungle, where three tractors were torched.
Police recovered six live bullets, three knives, seven TPC pamphlets bearing director Gurudev’s name, a Bolero Neo with 22 TPC letter pads in the dashboard, and six mobile phones. Authorities said the arrests have struck a major blow to criminal morale in the area and reinforced efforts to maintain law and order.
