Ranchi, April 24: In response to the escalating heatwave conditions across Jharkhand, the state’s Department of School Education has announced a change in school timings effective from April 26, 2025. The revised schedule will apply to all government, private, and minority-run schools, including those in the Ranchi district.
According to the notification issued today, the decision aims to safeguard students from the adverse effects of extreme temperatures currently sweeping through the region.
The revised school timings as follows: Classes KG to 8: 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM, Classes 9 to 12: 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM
The move comes as Jharkhand continues to record soaring temperatures, with daytime highs frequently exceeding seasonal norms. The Meteorological Department has issued heatwave alerts in several districts, urging precautions for vulnerable populations, including schoolchildren.
