Rumour of Child Lifters claims four lives in Saraikela Kharsawn, police and villagers clash

Saraikela-Kharsawan, May 18: Four alleged child lifters were beaten to
death by villagers under Rajnagar Police Station area of this district
and following the incident a clash broke out between the police and
the villagers in which five policemen were injured while couple of
vehicle were also set on fire.
Irate villagers set on fire the government vehicle  of Rajnagar
Police Station officer in charge Tileshwar Kushwaha. Five policemen
including Kushwaha sustained injuries among which condition of two was
serious. A large number of policemen have been deployed in the area
following the directions of SP Rakesh Bansal.
Locals said that in the wee hours of the day rumour spread that child
lifters in two vehicles had reached Shobapur village. The villagers
found their activities suspicious following an alarm regarding child
lifters was sounded in the neighbouring villages.
The villagers equipped with traditional arms reached the area however
by that time occupants of one of the vehicles managed to flee from the
spot whiel four other who were board in a car hided in separate
locations.
However the villagers soon dragged them out of their traditional
hideouts and beat them to death. The dead have been identified as
Nayeem, Khaleel , Farzu and Raju. Previous week in Jadugoda also three
people were beaten to death over the suspicion of being child lifters.
