Ranchi: Opposition Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) MLA’s and Ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) MLA’s stage a protest on different issues during the second day of winter session of Jharkhand Assembly in Ranchi on Monday. During Zero Hour the opposition reached the veil.
The Dheeraj Sahu cash issue remained heated inside the House. All the MLAs including BJP MLA Bhanu Pratap Shahi kept raising slogans in the veil, whose money is Rs 500 crore. The proceedings of the House continued amid sloganeering by the opposition. Calling attention notices were taken amid the uproar. Whereas Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon presented the second supplementary budget of Rs 8111.75 crore. After this, Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahato announced to adjourn the proceedings of the assembly till 11 am on Tuesday.
During the proceedings of the House in the winter session, Women Child Development and Social Security Department Minister Joba Manjhi placed several bills on the table of the House. During this, he placed on the table the copy of Jharkhand State Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules 2018, Jharkhand State Maintenance of Parents and Maintenance and Welfare of Senior Citizens Rules 2014 and Jharkhand Juvenile Justice Board (Care and Protection) Rules 2017.
Earlier, as soon as the House proceedings began, the Speaker rejected the motion for adjournment brought by BJP MLAs Anant Ojha and Bhanu Pratap Shahi. The second day of the winter session of Jharkhand Assembly started with uproar. Before the proceedings of the House began, both the opposition and the opposition were sitting on the steps of the House. On behalf of the government, many MLAs including Giridih MLA Sudivya Sonu, Mathura Mahato were sitting.
There were placards written in everyone’s hands: We are the tribals, we are the owners of the forest, stop selling the forest to the capitalists, and stop the conspiracy to evict the tribals and indigenous people from the forest, the forest is the self-respect of the tribals, stop selling it.
The opposition continued to corner the government from outside the House. The opposition was seen trying hard to corner the government including the CM on the issue of ED. The opposition said that the CM is going to run away due to fear of ED. The opposition MLAs had posters in their hands asking CM Hemant Soren to resign and a CBI inquiry into the misdeeds of the four years of the Hemant Soren government. Apart from this, BJP MLAs waved posters like Congress’s black empire, JMM looting Jharkhand, Congress and RJD’s illness.
As soon as the House proceedings began, MLA Pradeep Yadav asked that Home Guards were to be reinstated in 24 districts of the state. It was informed by the government that restoration has almost been completed in 16 districts. It has not even started in eight districts. Along with this he raised the issue of caste census. He said that in the last House the government had said that it wants to conduct the caste census but in the last five months the government could not decide that if we conduct the caste census then whom should we conduct.
The Rural Development Department is raising its hands that this is not my subject. He said that the government is sitting idle on this issue by talking about conducting a caste census in the House. During the proceedings, the opposition kept creating ruckus inside the House over the issue of ED and Dheeraj Sahu. The MLA reached the veil. During this, Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahato asked the opposition to sit down to allow the proceedings of the House to continue.
