Silli: Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan said, The ‘Gunj Mahotsav’ reflects the rich cultural heritage of our society. It serves to bring everyone together with enthusiasm and friendly spirit. Gunj Mahotsav is not limited to just one festival but is also a symbol of our collective strength. This festival shows that despite diverse backgrounds, we are and will always be one. Unity in diversity is not only our unique identity but also a great strength. This works to keep everyone committed to maintaining our unique identity. Various programs and activities organized during this festival provide opportunities to many talents and skills to showcase their art.
The Governor said that today’s day in this three-day ‘Goonj Mahotsav’ is dedicated to women, it is often said that where women are respected, gods reside there. He said that women have been given immense respect in our culture since ancient times. They have been the backbone of our social, cultural and family systems. Women have earned fame in various fields like art, literature and philosophy. He played an important role in the country’s freedom struggle and left an indelible mark. Women are not only becoming socially and economically self-reliant, but are also emerging as influential policy-makers.
The Governor said that he is happy that the women of Jharkhand are hardworking. During my visit to various villages in all 24 districts of the state, I saw how they were doing good work by actively joining self-help groups. He expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for dedicating the ‘Nari Shakti Vandana Act’ to the nation.
On this occasion, the Governor paid tribute to the late Binod Bihari Mahato ji by garlanding his portrait and also honored the people who have done excellent work in various fields.
