Actress Rishita Kothari, who stars as the lead in the television show Sehar Hone Ko Hai, is making a powerful debut with her nuanced and compelling performance.
Speaking about her first major role, Rishita said, “This show is extremely close to my heart because Sehar feels like a part of me. When I first read the script, I felt an instant connection.”
She shared that landing the lead role in her very first television project still feels surreal. “Playing a lead role in my debut show is overwhelming, and I am grateful to live this dream through such a meaningful story.”
Rishita believes the opportunity came at the perfect moment in her life, when she was prepared to embrace a character with deep emotional layers. Reflecting on her process, she explained, “Sehar is layered, emotional, and very human. To bring her alive, I spent time understanding her backstory, her fears, her strengths, and her vulnerabilities. I didn’t want to act; I wanted to become her. Every scene pushes me to grow, both as an actor and as a person.”
She added that portraying such a complex character has been her biggest learning experience so far. Rishita also expressed gratitude to her team for guiding her through this journey. “My director, co-actors, and the entire crew have been pillars of support. Their belief in me has made me more confident as an artist.”
The nurturing environment on set motivates her to perform her best every day. Speaking about what viewers can expect, she said, “Sehar Hone Ko Hai is more than just a show; it’s an emotional experience. It reflects real struggles, love, hope, and resilience. I want people to see a bit of themselves in Sehar. If the audience feels even a fraction of what I felt while portraying her, I’ll consider my job done.”
Calling the series a new chapter in her life, Rishita shared her excitement and gratitude. “Debuting with such a beautiful story is a blessing. I hope the audience embraces Sehar the way I have, and continues to walk with me on this journey.”
Sehar Hone Ko Hai also marks the comeback of TV stars Mahhi Vij and Parth Samthaan. At its core, the show portrays a mother’s determined fight against patriarchal pressures and rigid societal norms to secure a brighter future for her daughter.
