Saraikela – Kharsawan: Jharkhand Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan along with Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda, Kisan Samagam (Agriculture Fair cum Training Program) was inaugurated in Kharsawan, Jharkhand on the theme of Developed Village-Developed India.
Kisan Samagam (Agricultural Fair cum Training Programme) is being organized by the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare at Gondpur Maidan, Kharsawan, Jharkhand on the theme of Developed Village-Developed India.
Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has organized various institutions of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), National Seed Corporation, Birsa Agricultural University, IFFCO, National Horticulture Board, ATARI (Patna), Krishi Vigyan Kendras, NAFED, NABARD and various institutions of the state.
This huge event was organized together, in which thousands of farmers participated.
On this occasion, Governor Radhakrishnan said that former Prime Minister Late. Lal Bahadur Shastri had given the slogan of Jai Jawan-Jai Kisan, which is proving meaningful due to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
We had requested the Prime Minister for many facilities including railway electric lines for Jharkhand, which have been completed.
He said that today the post of President is being graced by a tribal woman – Draupadi Murmu.
Similarly, the Prime Minister has given the charge of important ministries like tribal work as well as agriculture and farmers welfare to tribal leader Arjun Munda.
While observing the stalls, I have realized that there is a significant change in the agriculture sector in the country, agriculture is being promoted by bringing revolutionary changes through central schemes.
Farmers play an important role in shaping the future of the country, they are the backbone of our economy.
In this context, such gatherings in the interest of farmers are highly commendable.
Prime Minister Modi is fully committed to increasing the income of farmers.
Union Minister Arjun Munda said that the Government of India is working in a planned manner under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to develop villages, towns and cities.
Prime Minister Modi has pledged to make the country developed by 2047, which we all have to accomplish together.
Munda urged the farmers not to keep their fields empty by growing just one crop, but to contribute to the development of the country by increasing their income by adopting a multi-cropping system.
The Center has provided the facility to test the soil of the fields, the department will fully cooperate with the farmers to take advantage of it.
Paying tribute to the brave martyrs of the soil of Jharkhand, he said that true tribute will be paid to them only when we make our fields green.
For this, many schemes have been started under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, which are being operated smoothly.
Use of drones and nano urea for farming is also important in this.
Matri Shakti is continuously working to develop the villages through self-help groups, which include thousands of PM Drone Didis.
Munda said that the farmer-friendly Modi government has always kept the agriculture sector on priority.
In this sequence, the budget of the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has been increased by about five and a quarter times in the current year as compared to about Rs 22 thousand crore in the year 2013-14.
The Central Government has also provided funds to the State Government for relief to the disaster affected farmers, which the State Government has been asked to deliver to the farmers quickly.
Besides, in order to provide the benefits of the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme to the farmers of Jharkhand, officials have been asked to discuss with the state government and get the state included in the scheme.
Munda said that Rs 6,865 crore has been announced by Prime Minister Modi.
Along with the budget, a new central sector scheme was started for the formation and promotion of 10 thousand new FPOs, under which about 7.25 thousand FPOs have been registered.
The Prime Minister has started the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra, through which farmers are being benefited.
Modi’s guarantee vehicles are roaming from village to village.
We have to move forward taking the poor along.
Munda said that the efforts of the Center are in full swing to promote Shri Anna in the interest of farmers.
24 thousand crore rupees have been spent by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs along with many programs for the welfare of the tribals of the southern areas.
The PM-Janman Yojana has also been started.
He said that work is being done in the country with the spirit of One India-Best India, with the basic mantra of Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas-Sabka Vishwas-Sabka Prayas.
On this occasion, the Governor and the Union Minister honored the progressive farmers.
More than 150 stalls were set up, where a large number of farmers got information and benefited.
The Centre’s schemes for farmers were publicized through short films.
Nano urea kits were distributed by IFFCO, safety kits and plants by HIL to the farmers.
Along with training on fodder seed production, awareness was spread about Agricultural Infrastructure Fund, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, natural farming, use of drones, developing agriculture as an enterprise, PPVFRA activities including Nano Urea and other schemes.
It was exposed to secondary agriculture, poultry farming, integrated farming system etc.
MPs Sanjay Seth and Bidyut Baran Mahato along with other public representatives, agricultural scientists, and senior officials were present in the fair.
