realme P4 Power Embodies ‘For Gen Z, By Gen Z’ Design Philosophy in Collaboration with Pearl Academy

New Delhi: Gen Z is reshaping the role of smartphones in daily life. For this generation, a smartphone is more than a functional device—it is an extension of identity, creativity, and lifestyle. Design, therefore, matters as much as performance, with emphasis on authenticity, expressiveness, and everyday comfort.

This evolving mindset has influenced how brands approach product design, and realme has actively responded to this shift across its portfolio. Within this context, the realme P Series has emerged as a line known for youthful, functional design tailored specifically to Indian users.

Earlier P Series models featured clean finishes, bold colour palettes, and durable yet visually appealing surfaces. Over time, the series has evolved in step with young users, adapting to changing preferences and usage patterns while remaining accessible and relatable.

Taking this evolution forward, the upcoming realme P4 Power marks a more intentional leap in youth-centric design. Built around a clear “For Gen Z, By Gen Z” philosophy, the device aims to deliver not only strong performance but also a sense of personal connection and self-expression.

Central to this approach is the TransView Design, which reimagines how technology is visually expressed on a smartphone. Rather than concealing technical elements, the design draws inspiration from them, bringing ideas of transparency, clarity, and authenticity to the surface—qualities that resonate strongly with Gen Z’s preference for openness and honesty in technology.

This philosophy is reflected in the upper crystal-style panel, which showcases circuit-inspired patterns, fine technical details, and visible screw elements. These features give the smartphone a bold, technology-forward identity and celebrate the engineering behind the device by transforming internal inspiration into external design language.

Complementing this is the lower matte panel, finished in bold, fashion-forward colours. Designed for comfort and individuality, the matte surface provides a secure grip while allowing users to express their personal style.

Together, the dual-panel design creates a harmonious balance between strength and comfort, performance and personality. The overall aesthetic reflects Gen Z’s natural acceptance of contrast, an idea rooted in realme’s “Power of Paradox” design philosophy, where opposing elements coexist and enhance one another.

The youth-driven design language of the realme P4 Power was further strengthened through a collaborative workshop between realme and Pearl Academy, one of India’s leading design institutions. As part of this initiative, students worked closely with realme’s design and product teams, contributing directly to the smartphone’s look and feel.

Through hands-on workshops and collaborative sessions, students participated from the ideation and sketching stages through to refined concepts. For the first time, student inputs directly influenced the design of a mass-market smartphone. Among the contributors, a concept by student Sankalp Panchal was shortlisted and integrated into the final product.

Beyond creative contribution, the collaboration offered students valuable exposure to real-world product development, including timelines, feasibility, and consumer expectations, demonstrating how creative ideas are refined into scalable consumer products.

With the realme P4 Power, realme continues to reinforce its position as a youth-focused brand that listens to and evolves with its audience. By placing Gen Z creators at the heart of the design process, the brand underscores its commitment to building smartphones that are not only made for young users, but genuinely shaped by them.
