Ranchi: Ranchi University has recently released the notification of PhD entrance exam. As soon as the notification was issued, student organizations protested regarding its fees. The university had fixed the form fee for general category students at Rs 300 and the examination fee at Rs 2500.
Students are demanding a reduction in fees. The university administration reduced the fees and said that now students will have to pay Rs 2200. But the students are still not satisfied. The examination fee in Vinod Bihari Mahato Koylanchal University is Rs 1000, while the examination fee in Vinoba Bhave University Hazaribagh is Rs 1500.
The fee for PhD entrance exam of Ranchi University is higher as compared to other universities of Jharkhand. Technical Students Union leader Abhishek Banerjee says that the attitude of the university administration is not good. There is a demand from the university administration that the fees should be further reduced, so that poor students can also appear in the entrance examination.
