Ranchi: The Ranchi Police has arrested a total of six criminals who were wanted in various instances of loot, snatching and dacoity from different police station areas along with arms.
Addressing a press conference here Ranchi SSP Anish Gupta said that four have been identified as Binod Mahli, Binod Munda, Kuldeep Oraon and Karo Pahan from whose possession couple of country-made pistols, five cartridges, two bikes, a scooty, 4 mobiles and more than Rs 1 lakh in cash has been recovered.
He said that these four are part of an eight-member criminal gang who they had formed in the jail. He said that in different police station areas of this district cases are registered against them. He said that the arrested have confessed to their role in many instances of loot executed with the finance company employees and traders.
Separately police have also arrested a couple of dacoits from Sultanganj of Bihar who were wanted in connection with a dacoity which was committed in JAC Apartment of Misir Gonda under Gonda Police Station area of this district on July 31. A group of five dacoits had on gunpoint looted the cash and valuables from the house of a medicine trader Manish Kumar.
After this incident the gang also struck in Hazaribagh and Ramgarh, the SSP said adding that the arrested included Shankara and Vijay from whom the tools used in dacoity, ornaments and other items have been recovered.
