Ranchi police arrested six people with doda worth Rs 2.70 crore

Ranchi: Ranchi Police has arrested six people with doda worth Rs 2.70 crore. In a press conference on Friday, SSP Chandan Sinha said that secret information was received that a big consignment of Doda packed in a big container was going to be sent from Khunti to Rajasthan via Ranchi. After which the police team started searching for the container by setting up checkpoints on all the routes coming from Khunti to Ranchi.

Meanwhile, the police saw a container with Rajasthan number coming on the Khunti-Namkum Highway, which was stopped by the police. Some people were sitting in another vehicle just behind the container and watching the police action. When the police started getting closer to them, they started trying to run away. But the police personnel present on the spot caught all the people present in the vehicle, all four were smugglers from Rajasthan, who were buying opium powder from Khunti and taking it to Rajasthan.

Police recovered 1589 kg of doda from the container. Whose price in the market has been estimated at Rs 2.70 crore. Taking action in this case, the police have arrested Satbir Singh, Ramesh Vishnoi, resident of Rajasthan, Taheer, resident of Uttar Pradesh, Praveen Munda, Soma Munda, resident of Ranchi and Luisa Pahan, resident of Khunti. Police have recovered Rs 11.50 lakh, a car and a bike and many other items from the arrested people.
