Ranchi Civic Polls 2026: Union Minister Sanjay Seth Casts Vote, Flags Concerns Over Ballot System

Ranchi: During the Ranchi Municipal Elections 2026, Union Minister of State for Defence and Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth exercised his right to vote. He arrived at Polling Booth No. 11 in Ward No. 33 and participated in what he described as the festival of democracy by casting his ballot.

After voting, Sanjay Seth raised questions about the election process, particularly the ballot system. He pointed out that votes for mayoral candidates and ward councillor candidates were being placed in the same ballot box, which, he warned, could create complications during vote counting. He stressed the need to improve the system to avoid confusion.

The minister also shared a personal note, saying that he usually comes to vote with his family. However, this time he voted alone as his wife’s polling booth was located nearly a kilometre away at a different centre.

Meanwhile, voter enthusiasm remains high across Ranchi. As polling continues, the administration is expected to respond to the concerns raised regarding the electoral process, with large numbers of citizens turning out to exercise their democratic rights.
