Ramesh Singh Munda murder: NIA arrests two from Ranchi

Ranchi, Jan 17: The NIA has arrested two people in connection with the murder of former minister and Tamar MLA Ramesh Singh Munda.

The arrested have been identified as Ganesh Lohar and Praful Kumar Mahto. The duo were presented before a special NIA court which later sent them to 5 days of remand. The NIA had on October 8 arrested former minister Gopal Krishan Patar alias Raja Peter in the case. It is being suspected that following the inputs of Raja Peter these two have been arrested.

Dreaded maoist Kundan Pahan is also in jail in connection with murder of Munda. The investigation agency has also arrested former bodyguard of Munda Sheshnath Singh. Raja Peter was accused of paying Rs 5 crore to the Maoists to get Ramesh Singh Munda killed.

Tamar MLA Ramesh Singh Munda alongwith his two body guards and a student was killed on July 9, 2008. In the case the than zonal commander of the Maoists Kundan Pahan and his squad were held responsible for the killing. Kundan later surrendered before Jharkhand police.

On the directions of the Union Home Ministry the NIA had commenced investigation in case on 6 June 2017.
