There are 13 protected ancient monuments and archaeological sites and remains in Jharkhand

There are 8 vacant posts related to the maintenance of monuments under the protected category and ATS in Union Minister Jharkhand

Ranchi/New Delhi: Former BJP President cum Rajya Sabha member Deepak Prakash sought information from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India through his unstarred question in the Rajya Sabha.

Prakash wanted to know the number of monuments declared protected in the country and what is the position of the state of Jharkhand in this regard.

State-wise how many posts are vacant in respect of maintenance of such monuments and what is the time limit for filling such vacant posts.

Giving information to Prakash, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Development of North Eastern Region G. Kishan Reddy informed that there are 3696 ancient monuments and archaeological sites and remains declared as of national importance in the country, out of which 13 are in the state of Jharkhand.

Giving state-wise information about the vacant posts related to the maintenance of monuments, the Union Minister said that there are 505 vacant posts under the protection category in the whole country, out of which 3 posts are lying vacant in Jharkhand.

A total of 3656 posts are lying vacant under the same ATS, out of which 5 posts are lying vacant in Jharkhand.

The Union Minister said that filling up of vacant posts is a continuous process.

The vacancies have been notified to the recruiting agencies under the Mission Recruitment Drive of the Government of India.
