Rajiv Gandhi Power Project Scam, CBI recorded testimony in the case of former CM Madhu Koda

Ranchi:  A hearing was held in the special CBI court in Ranchi in the Rajiv Gandhi power project scam involving former Chief Minister Madhu Koda and his aide Vinod Sinha. During Friday’s hearing, Heera Lal Mahato was presented as a witness on behalf of the CBI. Along with this, cross-examination of the witness was also done on behalf of the defense side i.e. Madhu Koda.

This matter is of the year 2010.

According to the allegations, Madhu Koda had taken a bribe of Rs 11.40 crore from the Hyderabad-based power company IVRCL, misusing her position as Chief Minister, in lieu of which the company was given the tender for rural electrification in six other districts including Latehar, Garhwa and Palamu.

Madhu Koda was in jail for two and a half years in this case. After which he got bail on 30 July 2013.
