Ranchi: The state capital Ranchi and its adjoining areas continued to witness periodic shower spells throughout the Sunday.
On Saturday Ranchi had only received 5mm of rainfall. Director of the Ranchi Met Department SD Kotal said that for the next five days rainfall will continue to take place in the state and warned of heavy rainfall in Simdega, Gumla and Chaibasa district for the next two days while for the remaining area normal rainfall and lightning has been predicted.
Dr Kotal said that due to the cyclone from North China sea the monsoon activity has been hampered in the state. However, he exuded full confidence of better rainfall in the state and said that gap is also expected to be filled. He said that from June 1 to July 27 297.5 mm rainfall has taken place against average rainfall of 477.9 mm.
